The issue in their home was a competition between "Niceness" and "Strangeness." They both were entitled to their grounds. What was missing was the common ground they could agree on. This is the bane of many marriages.
Love is not the issue. They still love each other. They just do not understand each other, and how to make it work with each other's uniqueness. Since "Strangeness" is pretty standard and needs no explanation, I'll turn my attention to "Niceness."

Thanks. That is the way God created His Universe, for Parents (Authority Figures, Teachers, and Shepherds) to help give the right vision of a place called there to the people. The failure in our society is because these people have lost their way.
