Despise Not Your Efforts:

"Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of small things brought together." — Vincent Van Gogh.

"The Law of Accumulation" states that "everything great and worthwhile in human life is an accumulation of hundreds and sometimes thousands of tiny efforts and sacrifices that nobody ever sees or appreciates."

"It states that everything accumulates over time, like a snowball." A snowball starts very small, but it grows as it adds millions and millions of tiny snowflakes and continues to grow as it gathers momentum.

In other words, "everything matters." Don't be too carefree with your life. Every seeming little thing you do or not counts. It matters. Period. No excuses allowed.

I have shared severally here of how my life influenced several of my colleagues, back in school, to give their lives to Christ, though years after.

I did not live my life with that intent in mind. I simply was in and with all my struggles. I was in love within that season of life. I had options, opportunities, and what looked like good reasons to compromise.

There are times I had thought to myself I was foolish not to have compromised on some issues. Thank God I didn't. That is why I am who I am today.

All those seemingly insignificant decisions in the backside of the desert are what makes the person you see today. That is why I can be naked and not ashamed. I paid the price of accumulation.

I am because I accumulated over time. And, you can relate that to every area of life. I did not necessarily get it right in every area, and I bear the scars from such failures.

That is why I can boldly counsel you against things. In my 53 years of pilgrimage, I have accumulated. And, I know you also have. The next thing is to ensure you make it work for you.

It is not just the accumulation that matters. It the story you derive from it. The same accumulation can kill one while giving life to the other.

It is never what happens to us in the path of life that matters. It is the way we see it. It is the way we CHOOSE to interpret it. It is our interpretation that gives us power or emasculate us.

How is your accumulation? What is your story?

It's Your Neighbor.
