Is anyone struggling with this? The major key to your better future is not your pastor (big or small), your prophet, your big-shot (otherwise known as bishop) or small-shot, your imam, mullah, "Babalawo," or Voodoo priest.

The major key to your better future is the man or woman in the mirror, you - your own very self. God has not placed your beautiful, glorious future in the hands of another man or woman. It is in your own hands.

I know there are many tyrants and terrorists around claiming they have your future in their hands. Please use the brain God endowed you with. Many people go to spiritual houses, including churches and mosques, leaving their brains at the entrance door.

Fear has got the better of them. In fact, scriptures say of such, "they are held captive by the fear of death." The people God ordained to rescue them have rather chosen to partner with the very same death, in further holding them captive.

No wonder people do strange and outrageous things in these spiritual houses. Only yesterday, I saw a video of one on Facebook, where the supposed pastor was praying for the woman's private part. He had them take off their pants, and he was rubbing their vagina, supposedly praying for them. And, the empty-headed, willful captives were allowing it.

Your better future is not in the hands of any half-drunk pastor, mullah, or priest. It is all in your own very hands. You are the key to your own better future. You need to up your game. You need to set a definite aim for your life and marshall out a plan for achieving it.

You need to set milestones for yourself and ask quality questions. What do I have today to start with? What are my strengths and weaknesses? What are the opportunities that avail themselves to me? What are the threats to my actualization?

How can I maximize my strengths and delegate my weaknesses? What are the best ways to harness the opportunities? How can I defend myself from the threats? Any insurance policies I can activate?

Write all these down and dedicate time to think over them. Best times to think include early in the morning as part of your devotion or after; and before shutting down to sleep. Those are the best times to engage your subconscious mind.

Now, all we have listed so far will be of no use if you don't get straight to work on your plan. As Howard Hendricks puts it, "Revelation without application is spiritual abortion." The price is in the application. The value is in putting it to effect.

Don't wait until tomorrow. Always ask, what can I do now, today, not tomorrow. Today is your day of salvation. Get to work on your plan. I see your future, and it is glorious.
