Overcoming the Fear of Commitment (Day 9)

Pain is Inevitable. Suffering is Optional
To quote Marie Curie,
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”
In the same token, commitment is not to be feared. It is only to be understood better and more. Our fear originates from our ignorance or rather lack of understanding.

Gaining a better and more understanding, and thereby overcoming this fear is our main thrust. And, the key to the life of our dreams.

The first things you learn about fear on this journey include,

“Fears are nothing more than a state of mind.” (Napoleon Hill)

“Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.” (Will Smith)

“You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn't exist anywhere except in the mind.” (Dale Carnegie)
Fear is something we create in our minds based on a thought we chose to dwell on and personalize. It is our interpretation of the world around us aided by the promptings of our survival instinct.

In the same way, we created it, we can also uncreate it. All we need to do is change our interpretation and understanding of the stimulant event (cue).
