(Dr. Daniel Levinson, Seasons of a Man’s Life)Women, “DON’T EVER MARRY A MAN WHO DOES NOT HAVE A DREAM, NO MATTER HOW RICH HE IS.” In fact a poor man with a dream is far better than a rich man without a dream. It is only a matter of time the riches will change hands. And, you want to be where the riches end up.
Women, “If the man you are married to has no dream, please your number one assignment and responsibility is to help him get one. Give him no rest until he gets one. It is one of the few things you are allowed to be selfish about. You will be saving yourself a whole lot of nightmares.”
Women, “There is nothing wrong with you having your own dreams, vision, aspirations and goals. Life is going to be asking you questions. Better be ready with the right answers. Don’t be caught naked.”
And, men, “The least you can do for yourself, your spouse and your family, is to have a dream and work on it. It does not cost that much. That is the least life expects of you. That is not too much to ask. Is it?” It does not matter where you are today. What matters are your dreams, their size and working on them at full throttle.
Never forget, “Nothing is permanent.” We all love it when it is said in the positive context. The negative context is just as true. Like John Wooden rightly notes, “Success Is Never Final and Failure Never Fatal. It’s Courage That Counts.” Let time ALWAYS work for you, and NOT AGAINST you. The ball is in your hands and in your court. What are you doing with it?
