Devotional Tea 4: Don’t You Remember?

Scripture: Matthew 16:9-10 (TLB)

Won’t you ever understand? Don’t you remember at all the five thousand I fed with five loaves, and the basketfuls left over? Don’t you remember the four thousand I fed, and all that was left?

Meditation:
Eaten bread must not be forgotten. God's miracles and mercies are to be had in everlasting remembrance, for our encouragement to trust in him at all times. (Matthew Henry)
God NEVER does anything for the sake of doing it. He ALWAYS buries in ALL He does Eternal Truths. The onus is on us to learn from every one of them. Let us not be like Noah's children who after seeing His might deliverance from the flood, still went about seeking their own protection. Nor should we be like the Israelites, who after seeing His might acts in Egypt could not trust Him for menial things. Nor like Asa who took his eyes off God's past deliverance. [2 Chronicles 16:7-9]

He who has brought you this far is the same who will take you to the end. If He could bring you through the past storms, what makes you think He will not take you through the present? REMEMBER! FORGET NOT HIS PAST WORKS. They are the testaments to and testimonies of what He is presently doing and will yet do. Stay strong. Keep the faith. Faithful is He who has promised.

Further Reading: Romans 8:31-34; 1 Corinthians 10:6-13; Deuteronomy 32:15; Psalm 103:7; Hebrews 4:1-13.

Prayer: Lord, cause me never to forget who you are. When I don't understand your hands, may I always trust your heart.
