Devotional Tea 12: It is Finished; It is Done.

Scripture: Colossians 2:8-10 (TLB)

Don’t let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on men’s thoughts and ideas, instead of on what Christ has said. For in Christ there is all of God in a human body; so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power.

Meditation:
The voice from the tree did not summon them to do, but to be satisfied with what was done. (Horatius Bonar)
O the sweet peace and rest to know we are accepted in the beloved. [Ephesians 1:6] Not because of what we have done or who we are, but for all that He is and all He has done for us. It is finished was is cry as He tore up the old records and hand writing against us. [Colossians 2:14] He became our peace by taking away the wall of separation (limitation, resistance). [Ephesians 2:14]

All you need is Christ. We are saved by Christ alone, not our church activities and/or the titles so many people are so eagerly craving for. Christ plus nothing is all that we need. That is all we were saved by That is what we are being saved by. That is all we will be saved by. We are complete in Him.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to rest completely in your finished work. Help me enter into your rest.
