Devotional Tea 10: Lead me to the Rock

Scripture: Psalm 61:1-3 (TLB)

O God, listen to me! Hear my prayer! For wherever I am, though far away at the ends of the earth, I will cry to you for help. When my heart is faint and overwhelmed, lead me to the mighty, towering Rock of safety. For you are my refuge, a high tower where my enemies can never reach me.

Meditation:
When I cannot read, when I cannot think, when I cannot even pray, I can trust. (James Hudson Taylor)
Never lose hope. Never let your trust in God fade away.

Things might not be working the way you planned, or expected, but that does not mean God has changed. That does not mean he has forsaken you. He is ever faithful, even when it seems otherwise. He is the only constant in an ever changing world. His love never wanes. His mercies never fade. He is love in the very essence of the word. His mercies are new every morning. What you are going through might not make sense, but you can trust in the things that do not change.

When you don't understand His hands, trust His heart. Trust His person. Trust His purpose. Those NEVER change. He loves you, and will only work with your best interest at heart. He is able and willing to cause all things to work together for your good. He is not only able, He is at work on your behave. He is working all things together for your good, even your own mistakes. Will you trust Him? Will you let Him?

I see you on the other side of victory, and you look glorious. Only trust and hold on.

Prayer: "Lead me, Lord, to the Rock that is higher than I. Let me hear your word, give me grace to obey, to build steadily, stone upon stone, day by day, to do what You say. Establish my heart where floods have no power to overwhelm, for Christ’s sake. Amen." (Elizabeth Elliot)
