Choose Life (Part Twelve): The All or Nothing God.

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:5-6, NKJV)
We continue this week with the story of the sick man healed at the Pool of Bethesda. [John 5:1-15].

For some of us, the issue is with wanting LIFE with little or no commitment. Our hearts cry, “Lord, could you give me on my own terms?” Then again, we receive a rude awakening, from THE ALL SUFFICIENT ONE. He demands nothing short of our ALL [Mark 12:29-30]. Anything short of ALL is not good enough for our God.
"You cannot receive Christ in bits and pieces." - Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.
ALL demands
...labor.
...taking risks.
...a discomforting.
...a stretch from us.
...a leaving our comfort zone.
...sowing, watering, tendering and waiting patiently.
..trusting even when we have no clue what God is doing.
...exposing our self to danger, if only for a good course,
in accordance with our set goals and vision.
ALL involves
...trusting God’s heart and knowing He loves us, and is ALWAYS about our good.
ALL know
...there is a cross to carry and bear.
...the way to the throne is through the cross.
There is no other way. The thorns come before the crown. That is what life is made of.
