Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:5-6, NKJV)
We continue this week with the story of the sick man healed at the Pool of Bethesda. [John 5:1-15].
Does every sick truly expect or want to be healed? Does every poor want to get rich? Does every ignorant want to gain knowledge? Is every man desirous of wisdom and moving on to the next level? The answer obviously is not farfetched. It is an obvious, capital, NO! And that is why Matthew 7:7 appears in scripture.

Jesus admonishes us to “ASK,” “SEEK,” and “PLACE DEMANDS.” Why? Because not everyone does, even though they have needs. Why will impoverished people be devoid of desire? There are several reasons. We set out to look at a few. Jim Rohn admonishes,
"Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you."
One major reason people are devoid of desire is they have no vision of a better place. For them, there is no place called “THERE” to seek. Everyone around seems to be enmeshed in the same trouble they are in, so it has become their new NORMAL. Is that your case? Are you satisfied with just being like everyone else around you?
Are you satisfied with just being better than those around you? Or, do you want to have ALL that is available for and to you? Do you want the place called "THERE," the "PROMISED LAND?"
"Your liberty will not be freely given to you. You must be bold to liberate yourself." (Lailah Gifty Akita)
"Desire is the ingredient that changes the hot water of mediocrity to the steam of outstanding success." (Zig Ziglar)
"Not all dreamers are winners, but all winners are dreamers. Your dream is the key to your future. The Bible says that, "without a vision (dream), a people perish." You need a dream if you're going to succeed in anything you do." (Mark Goman)I refuse to be satisfied with anything less than LIFE, and LIFE IN ABUNDANCE. [John 10:10] What about you? It is time to lift up our eyes above our present environment. It is time to set our imagination loose. It is time to think of all the GOOD THINGS that can happen to us. [Philippians 4:8]
It is time to know that GOOD THINGS can happen, and we deserve it. It is time to embrace the possibilities. Will You?
