Welcome to The Upper Room. So glad you made it.
We continue with our meditations in The Book of Daniel, as we lead ourselves into The Throne Room. We take a look at the first of the two visions of Daniel in Chapter 7. This is the vision of "The Four Beasts," as narrated in verses 2 - 8.
The four beasts, which came up from the Great Sea, include:
1. Like a lion with an eagle's wings. The wings were plucked off and the beast was made to stand on two legs like a man. It was given a man's heart.
2. Like a bear. It was raised up on one side. It had three ribs in its mouth, between its teeth. They said to it, 'Arise, devour much flesh!'
3. Like a leopard. It had four wings of a bird on its back. It had four heads, and dominion was given to it.
4. Dreadful and Terrible, exceendingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in opieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beast before it, and it had ten horns. There was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked off by the roots. In this horn were eyes like teh eyes of a man, and a moth speaking pompous words.
These represent four kings (kingdoms). The fourth will defeat the first three kingdoms. Yet the fourth will be judged and its kingdom given to the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.
The summary of the matter being God always has the last say.
Let's pray.
The Saint.
