Welcome to the Upper Room. So glad you came.
We continue with our meditation in Daniel 6:10. This is our fifth installment in this verse and on the topic "Unperturbed," as we study "The Book of Daniel," in leading ourselves into "Throne Room." Daniel 6:10 reads,
"Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days."
When Daniel's word was troubled his recourse was to go to the place of his strength. His place of strength was found in the place of prayers, the secret and quiet place, his closet, under the shadow of the Most High. [Psalm 91]
How more secure can one be? This reminds me of Jesus as he prayed prior to the cross. Why did Jesus pray, just like Daniel, on the day of visitation? Why did he admonish the disciples to pray so they do not fall into temptation? Is that why he himself prayed?
What is a prayer to you? To feel good? To make someone happy? Do you find comfort in the place of prayers? Do you leave the place of prayers differently? Or, do you pick up the same anxieties back up? Is prayer a place of refuge for you?
It was for Jesus. The scriptures tell us, while he prayed his sweat was little blood. That tells of the intensity in the place of prayers. Do you know that place? Where do you pray? The outer court, inner court, or the holy of holies? Do you know the place of power in the prayers? Why not, if not?
Jesus did. The scriptures tell us when he was done praying angels comforted him. Been there? Done that? Why not, if not? Do you know God? Do you know how to pray? Again, are you an outer court, inner court, or holy of holies prayer?
God wants you to come to the holy of holies. The veil has been torn. He bids you come. Will you?
Let's pray.
The Saint.
