Welcome to the Upper Room. So glad you came.
We continue digging in Daniel 6:3, "An Excellent Spirit," what is it? We have since been digging into the excellent spirit found in Abraham. Let us dig a little further into Genesis 16, and look at the interplays between Abraham, Sarah and Hagar before during, and after their compromise.
A lot of men seem to only have one verse in their bible. Guess which verse that is? Yes, of course, it is Ephesians 5:22. And, for the extra spiritual ones amongst them, they add 1 Peter 3:1 to it. And the extra spiritual amongst them add 1 Peter 3:6 to the mix.
Yet these have no clue neither what the scriptures are saying, nor the prerequisites to them. Hence, the scriptures they hold so tightly become impediments in their lives rather than the blessings they are meant to be.
Though Sarah called Abraham Lord, no place do we find Sarah relating to Abraham as though she was Abraham's property or slave. Nowhere at all. In fact, the scriptures show them as being equal in every way.
That is the paradox that has taken a lot of men to hell, is taking others there, and will yet do the same with a great many others who have refused wisdom. The woman is no less than the man in any matter of creation. They were and are both created in the image and likeness of God.
No aspect of God is subjected to the other. Before God, a man and a woman are equal. Yes, there were traditions of men that beclouded this in historic Israel. This is no different from the issues Jesus addressed as it related to several aspects of the law which were wrongly applied, including divorce.
The best way to understand principles is to always go back to the first principles, the first creation or what we call theology the first mention. And, what do we see in the garden? A subjected Eve, or a domineering Adam? Sure not. That was not the original creation.
God took the woman from man's side to stand by him, not behind him, in front of him, beneath him, nor above him, but side by side with him in ALL things. And, the bible says for the purpose of this will a man leave his father and mother. Note not the woman shall leave, but the man.
May the Lord give us understanding. Let's pray.
The Saint.
