Welcome to the Upper Room. So glad you made it.
We continue on our Meditation in Daniel 5:5-6, as we close the week. We all have examples of God's interruptions in our lives. For some of us, they are dramatic. From others, they are traumatic. Irrespective, for all of us, they are memorable.
God loves leaving memorials in our lives. A place of encounter. A place which points to Him. A place which makes Him real and tangible in our lives. It is never to kill us, but always to make us better, and destiny fulfilling.
I have had so many encounters of God getting my attention, but none as the last one. And, I never want to repeat it. That is enough for a life time. Not sure anyone can survive two of that. The message was as clear as clear can be.
Like I was sharing with a friend the other day, all that I am today is because of all I have been through yesterday. All I will be tomorrow will be because of all I have and am presently going through. I am evolving into the fullness of who I am.
I get to do a lot of things today which I never did before. They are not necessary my comfort place, but I thrust into them today because it is the only choice that makes sense of the pain of my yesterday. Not doing them or getting into them is to make common what it took to get me here.
This and a whole lot more is what happens to you when God gets your attention. And, He will, either the easy or hard way. The choice is ours to make. God spent a life time trying to get Jacob's attention. He did not yield until he was face to face with possible death at the hand of Esau.
Then Jacob wrested with God. The rest is history. He had the promise, but it was not activated until God got his attention and conquered him. What of you? Does God have your attention? Has He conquered you? Will it be the easy way, or the hard way. The choice is yours to make.
Let us pray.
The Saint.
