Welcome to the Upper Room. So glad you came.
We continue reading and studying the Book of Daniel as we lead ourselves into the Throne Room. We continue with verse 7 of Chapter Three, with the Topic, "The Cult Called Religion." Did it ever occur to you that religion is a cult?
It should really be surprising that every religion is a cult. Every cult is a religion, a practice, a way of being and doing things. It is a dogma, with a requirement for strict adherence. You either fall in or fall out. There is no provision for the in-between.
That is what we see in Daniel Chapter Three. Everyone was expected to bow to the image Nebuchadnezzar had put up. There was no option for exemption. If you belong to the kingdom, you were required to bow.
Which religions come to mind in this regard? You are required to be otherwise your own kinfolks are required to kill you, or at least ostracize you. Such is the power of the cult called religion. It is not of God, but of the devil.
God's call is for True Worshippers, who worship in spirit and in truth, not being enslaved by practice, but enlivened by the reality of a relationship.
Let's pray.
The Saint.
