Welcome to the Upper Room. So glad you came.
We close our eleventh round of weeks today and take a sabbatical next week. We return upper week with our twelfth round of weeks. Can you believe that? The journey we began on the 15th of February 2021 is moving on with power, grace, and glory. And, it can only get better.
We close this round of weeks with our sharing on The God in the Fire. That of God's promise to us all through scriptures. And, that is His idea from the very beginning. He is a God who is near and wants to be. He is a relational God, very much unlike all the false gods.
No wonder a lot of people are easily tempted to bring their old practice into the worth of Jehovah. No, No, and No. Jehovah is very much unlike all other (false) gods. He is a God who is near, by choice. However, there are prerequisites for His manifest presence.
His manifest presence is not a given, even though it is a promise. Just like every other promise, there are prerequisites. His manifest presence will not force itself on us. We have to meet its righteous and just demand. For Adam and Eve, it was the need to respect boundaries. How difficult is that?
For Joshua, it was to hold tightly to that which sanctifies (separates, makes holy) and hence ensure the boundaries. Only those who do such invite and welcome the presence of God in and over their lives.
The Israelites turned down God's invitation at the mount. They were too tied to their sins to give God room. So, God had to improvise with Levi. In Christ, He is making the same offer to us. Are we turning it down, or inviting and welcoming His presence - His manifest presence?
He wants to show Himself strong on our behalf. Will you give Him room today?
Let's pray.
The Saint.
