Welcome to another day in the Upper Room. So glad you could make a date with us. Thanks, for coming.
The other day, I did share my struggle in applying Jesus' counsel to a life situation. Jesus' counsel is that we should be, "wise as a serpent, and gentle as a dove." Well, I am a normally gentle person, and to a large extent not lacking in wisdom. Right?
Just looking at it in generality did not meet the requirements of my real-life experience. As gentle as I might be, I have no patience for anyone who tries to undermine my person, irrespective of who that person is or might be. Those close enough know exactly what I am talking about.
What, that is not always right. In doing that sometimes I have raised the stake on things I could have easily ignored and doused off. That was my challenge. Bringing control to my normal tendency. As much as I am still offended by the occurrence, and sure wish it does not repeat itself, my refraining brought immediate peace.
Happy am I for being a peacemaker. Also, I have the opportunity to stay away from occasions that might create such a situation. God's word is true. I am the better for aligning my life with it.
Let's pray.
The Saint.
