Welcome to another day in the Upper Room. So glad you could make it.
Read Chapter 8 of "The Purpose Driven Life Devotional" by Rick Warren yesterday. Psalm 149 verse 4 jumps out at me. It reads, "For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation." How does it make you feel that God takes pleasure in you?
How does that affect your attitude towards prayer? There are several other scriptures that support this notion.
Zephaniah 3:17, NKJV reads,
"The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”"
Psalm 35:27, NKJV reads,
"Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”"
Isn't that rather neat? It makes me feel at ease in my Father's presence. I am not disturbing Him. He wants to spend time with me. He wants to spend time with you. Spending time with God is pleasing to Him. Bringing pleasure to God is called “worship.”
I love bringing pleasure to God. I love loving God. My heart's persuasion every day is to have God look down and say, "This is my son in whom I am well pleased." That is what runs my motor.
To the believer, everything is sacred. For in and with everything, we are expected to worship.
Let's pray.
The Saint.
The Saint.
